Painting on the summit of Blanc de Moming

James Hart Dyke painter/climber 2016
THE ALPS
For many years James has been painting in the Alps. He has worked on paintings for solo exhibitions in London (see Whympers Alps 150 years on) and also numerous private commissions.
James has an interest in the Romantic art movement in relation to the Alps. This includes the poetry of William Wordsworth and the writings of John Ruskin. In particular James is fascinated by some of the first Alpine artists who later became pioneering climbers, such as Gabrielle Loppe and Edward Whymper.
