James started landscape painting at the age of eight after seeing a small oil study by John Constable. Constable has remained a key influence on his work although unlike Constable, James has sort to paint more extreme landscapes, undertaking some grueling painting expeditions in the Himalayas, Alps and Atlas Mountains. The paintings shown here where exhibited at John Mitchell Fine Paintings in 2011.
